a single-flower vase known as “Berluze” (or sometimes called “Gallinette” by Delatte in homage to Émile Gallé)

made of multilayered marbled glass, created by interlayering powders and vitrified colored glass inclusions (here, yellow, orange, and brown pigments in a gradient) that create this mottled or speckled effect imitating marble.

Signature A. Delatte Nancy, clearly visible

André Delatte (1887–1953), a master glassmaker of the École de Nancy, began his career at Baccarat and then Saint-Louis before joining Établissements Gallé as production manager. In 1921, he founded his own glassworks in Nancy and created works in acid-etched glass, multilayered glass, and pâte de verre, blending Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.
