Exceptional four-panel chandelier in perfect condition, all panels signed
Superb and rare Art Deco-style chandelier dating from the 1930s, an authentic work by master glassmaker Costbelle.
This exceptional light fixture is a creation of the Costbelle Glassworks. It features the remarkable distinction of having all four of its frosted, press-molded glass panels signed by Costbelle and in perfect condition.
Each panel is adorned with a magnificent relief design depicting a lively scene of gymnasts captured in mid-motion, in graceful and dynamic poses that are very characteristic of the era
The glass features a beautiful, nuanced patina and subtle transparency.
The geometric frame is made of patinated metal (silver-bronze or wrought-iron style), adorned with stylized floral motifs at the corners and an elegant hook cover. The fixture is suspended by four original twisted metal cables.
The interior is equipped with its four original sockets. The electrical system is period-correct; an inspection or update to current safety standards is recommended for daily use.
The glasswork is in perfect condition—no cracks or chips on any of the four panels. The metal frame features a superb original patina. Period electrical wiring requires inspection.
