Charming garden pedestal table from the Napoleon III period, a refined testimony to French outdoor furniture from the second half of the 19th century. The circular enameled sheet metal top seduces with its sophisticated decor: an elegant frieze of meanders (Greek) at the edge frames a central field decorated with repetitive floral motifs in neo-medieval style, treated in pink-brown monochrome on an off-white background. A decoration of rare finesse for garden furniture. The wrought iron tripod base, painted green, deploys three volute legs joined by a central circular ring, converging towards a round base decorated with a decorative button - a slender and graceful silhouette, typical of French production of the period. The whole thing bears a beautiful patina of time: chips of enamel on the edges revealing layers of red and gold paint testifying to its age, oxidation on the underside of the top, and naturally flaking green paint on the base. Honest and assumed wear and tear which gives this piece all its authentic character and its soul of yesteryear.
