Rare Polychrome Mirror Frame From Nuremberg, Late 17th Century, Featuring A Profile Of King John Sobieski Of Poland

A rare polychrome wooden frame with a central mirror carved with figures and animals. The central figure is King John III Sobieski of Poland. This mirror is typical of the Nuremberg workshops of the late 17th century (a similar model mounted in an hourglass shape is featured in the Attali collection; see the Drouot Gazette article).
The dimensions are 60 cm high by 49 cm wide. The polychrome paint is original and in good overall condition.
There is a chip in the original mirror, and a slight loss of wood is visible at the base of the frame. (See photos).
