Large Candelabra With Mermaids, Napoleon III Period (56 Cm)
A large candelabra in chiseled and gilded bronze, freely inspired by the designs of Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695–1750), featuring four light arms formed of flowering branches and coiled foliage, emerging from a vase supported by three mermaids whose tails highlight three cartouches, and finished with a scalloped base adorned with radiating fluted motifs, acanthus leaves and acanthus leaf friezes, shells, rocaille motifs, etc. (slight wear; formerly wired for electricity).
