Robert VERNET-BONFORT, born in 1934 in Marseille, studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille from 1948 to 1957, where he won numerous awards. Selected for the “Salon des peintres Témoins de leur temps” and the Menton International Biennial, he won the Grand Prize from the Elisabeth T. Greenshield Foundation in Montreal.
He has exhibited his works in France and abroad, particularly in England, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the United States, and Canada.
A brilliant colorist, his compositions—always meticulously crafted—are remarkably precise. His highly precise draftsmanship, his colors of astonishing richness—both sumptuous and subtle—his warm and powerful style, his solid and perfectly proportioned compositions, and his sense of volume have captivated numerous international collectors.
