The center features a composition of lotus flowers and leaves emerging from stylized waves, highlighted by a wide circular frieze with a dark background and gilded scrollwork, embellished with floral cartouches.

A superb and rare oval bowl on a footed base with a Japanese-style decoration in gilded bronze and cloisonné and champlevé enamels, crafted by the prestigious Maison Alphonse Giroux under the direction of Ferdinand Duvinage and Nicolas Harinkouck, 1867–1874
The bowl features a rich polychrome design depicting a watery landscape with iris flowers, water lilies, a dragonfly, and a kingfisher, traversed by an ornamental band of foliage on a bright blue background.
It rests on an exceptional base formed by three wading birds—storks and herons—carved from gilded bronze, which serve as legs.
On the back is the partially preserved original label from the firm
