We are pleased to present this splendid oil painting on a Masonite panel mounted on plywood, dating from the early 20th century. This magnificent landscape is signed in the lower left corner: L. Clara. The signature is attributed to the Italian painter Luigi Clara (Turin, 1870 – Genoa, 1925).
The painter depicts an Italian landscape with predominantly autumnal colors and a light that evokes sunset or a hazy dawn. The scene is ideally divided into two areas: dense vegetation on the left and a body of water (probably a river or a tranquil pond) on the right. The left section is dominated by a dark, dense, and compact mass of woodland.
