Toile De Jouy Curtain Panel – 19th-century Louis XVI Style, Featuring Peacocks And Musical Motifs

A magnificent and very large 19th-century Toile de Jouy panel, featuring a superb Louis XVI-inspired design, printed in an elegant palette of burgundy red on a slightly pinkish cream background.

The particularly refined design extends across the entire surface of the fabric: peacocks perched on columns, trees, foliage, flowers, and various musical and decorative motifs characteristic of the Louis XVI repertoire come together to create a richly detailed park scene.

The harmonious repetition of the motifs and the exceptional size of the panel allow one to fully appreciate the beauty of this antique fabric. Its slightly faded color now gives it a soft, charming patina, which is equally appealing in a traditional interior as in a more contemporary setting.

The fabric shows a few minor signs of age, which are normal for an antique fabric, as well as a hole clearly visible in the photographs. Nevertheless, the piece remains highly decorative and makes a striking statement.

With its generous dimensions, this panel can be used as-is to drape a wall, create a headboard, a canopy, decorative panels, or—depending on the project—be transformed into an elegant pair of curtains.

Dimensions: 287 cm + 24 cm hem at the top x 237 cm wide.

A beautiful piece of antique fabric with a particularly spectacular design, ideal for lovers of Toile de Jouy, historic textiles, and refined decor.
