Important early 20th-century Chinese lacquer chest.
A very beautiful, generously sized piece, 70 cm wide, depicting two five-clawed imperial dragons on a black lacquer background, enhanced by cloisonné bronze plaques with turquoise backgrounds that create a stunning effect. 
Exquisite craftsmanship is evident in the details of the lacquer as well as in the superb execution of the numerous enameled plaques.
It features an interesting symbol: the sacred pearl, a symbol of sovereignty and power in ancient China. 
The piece is in excellent original condition and has never been restored.
A very rare piece with great decorative appeal.
