Still Life Painting Signed By Eugène Claude (1841–1922)
Born into a family of porcelain merchants, Eugène Claude began his career as a porcelain painter. He was a member of the Société des Artistes. He exhibited at the Paris Salon as early as 1861, at the age of twenty.
Eugène Claude won a second-class medal at the 1895 Salon des Artistes Français and an honorable mention at the 1889 Paris World’s Fair as well as at the 1900 World’s Fair[2]. A prolific artist, he submitted some sixty paintings to the Salon over the course of thirty years[3].
He mainly painted portraits and still lifes of flowers, fruits, and animals
