Small Walnut Stocking Basket From The Early 19th Century
An elegant small antique walnut cabinet, narrow and tall in shape, featuring a molded panel door.
The front features understated scrollwork, accented at the top with a sculpted scroll motif. The door is adorned with a beautiful metal lock plate featuring intricate decoration, adding an extra decorative touch to the piece.
The overhanging cornice, with its successive moldings, pleasantly accentuates the upper portion of the cabinet. The lower crossbar, with its scalloped and ornate design, rests on four small legs; the front legs are curved and end in scrolls, characteristic of the Louis XV style.
The interior, which is particularly interesting, is fitted with three shelves.
