A nightlight consisting of a granite-textured glass bulb, enamelled with a design of stylized flowering japanese cherry blossom branch, mounted on a wrought-iron base decorated with leaves. The manufacturer’s mark, slightly faded, is located on the lower part of the glass.Adrien Mazoyer, France, circa 1920–1930.
Good condition: Two slight chips on the rim of the glass, not visible when the glass is mounted on the base,rust points on wrought iron.
Adrien Mazoyer (1887–1950), originally from Le Creusot, moved to Moulins in 1900 to take over a family-owned store where he displayed his creations of earthenware and enameled glass after learning the art of enamel decoration on glass.The originality and beauty of his work brought him fame in France and the United States. He ceased his activities in 1940.
