Rare Arita Porcelain Teapot, Japan, 18th Century
Featuring primarily around the rim and on the lid, archaic characters—including one meaning “Longevity,” etc.
Alternatively, the Imari-style decoration reveals porcelain of very fine quality, reminiscent of pieces from the Shibata Collection, where two teapots of the same shape appear but with different decorations; both are dated between 1770 and 1820. The handle is twisted, similar to those on baskets. Very good overall condition.
Height: 19 cm
