Restoration-Period Walnut Cabinet – 19th Century

A beautiful Restoration-period cabinet made of walnut, dating from the first half of the 19th century, circa 1820–1830.

It opens at the front with two large doors featuring molded panels, which beautifully highlight the walnut’s natural grain. The lower section features a wide, full-depth drawer fitted with two bronze pull handles and accented by an elegant inlaid design of light-colored fillets.

The upper crossbar is also adorned with a delicate inlay design forming geometric patterns, characteristic of the understated and refined taste of the Restoration period.

The piece is crowned by a substantial, overhanging molded cornice, giving this cabinet a striking presence while maintaining very balanced lines.

The interior, which offers ample storage space, has retained its original character with its back panel made of wide wooden planks, its shelves, and a small interior drawer. The sides are also paneled.

A beautiful regional cabinet from the early 19th century, notable both for its large proportions and for the quality and warm tones of its walnut.
