18th-century Cutlery Set - Bernard Raterey - Marseille - 12 Table Knives

This magnificent box contains a set of 12 18th-century table knives, dating from around 1789, crafted in Marseille by master cutler Bernard Ratery.
The original label affixed to the inside of the lid provides valuable historical information:
“Ratery, Master Cutler, makes and sells knives, scissors, razors, pocket knives, scrapers, surgical instruments, and generally everything related to cutlery. He resides on Rue des Fabres in Marseille,” under the sign of the Bâton Royal.
The historical records of the Marseille cutlers’ guild specifically list Bernard Ratery as active between 1789 and 1795.
Solid silver ferrules (bearing a period hallmark) and steel blades.
Overall in good condition; one knife is blunt, and one hinge on the box is broken
