A porcelain lamp by the English firm “Copeland and Sons,” featuring a draped cherub holding the lamp’s reservoir, crafted from the beautiful white porcelain for which Copeland was renowned.
Established in 1840 by W.T. Copeland, the company remained in business through the 20th century. It used approximately 30% of the ash from calcined animal bones (bone) to achieve this beautiful, slightly ivory-colored and creamy material known as “Bone China.”
The company also produced decorated porcelain.
