Louis XVI Chest Of Drawers With Marquetry. 18th Century
An elegant Louis XVI-style chest of drawers from the late 18th century, featuring three drawers on the front.
It features refined mahogany and rosewood veneer work, accented with amaranth and light wood fillets.
The drawer fronts are particularly well-crafted, featuring geometric frames with contrasting fillets and, at the center of each drawer, a remarkable decoration of simulated fluting in marquetry.
The chest of drawers is topped by a veined marble slab, three centimeters thick, which has undergone an earlier restoration.
It is adorned with beautiful antique and authentic bronze hardware, including lock plates and handles decorated with medallions.
Locks and key are functional.
An elegant and well-proportioned piece, characteristic of the neoclassical style of the Louis XVI period, demonstrating fine craftsmanship in marquetry and veneer.
In good overall condition considering its age.
Note: The marble has been restored in the past.
