Albert Marius Hippolyte Decaris (1901–1988) was a French painter, decorator, and engraver. A master engraver renowned for his virtuosity, he also worked in watercolor and ink wash—often as preparatory studies for his engravings—and designed numerous postage stamps. He created more than 600 large-scale engravings on a variety of subjects (mythology, views of Rome, Italy, Greece, Spain, and France; allegories; portraits of contemporaries and historical figures) as well as numerous watercolors and ink washes.
