This design by Albert Guillaume (1873–1942), published around 1907 to promote the short-lived “Palais de glace” in Nice, was strongly influenced by the style of the poster artist Jules Chéret, who had created a similar design in 1895 for the Palais de glace in Paris. A graphic designer for both the theater and advertising, Albert Guillaume is best known for his satirical drawings published in Parisian humor magazines such as Gil Blas, Le Rire, Le Frou-frou, L’Assiette au beurre, *Le Figaro illustré* and *Le Pays de France*.
The poster was chromolithographed and printed by Ch. Wall & Cie (Paris) around 1907. It is in good overall condition.
