Pair Of Empire-style Armchairs, Made Of Mahogany
A pair of Empire-style armchairs, crafted from mahogany, featuring the clean, refined lines characteristic of the Neoclassical style.
The slightly sloping rectangular backs and crossbars are embellished with gilded bronze applied motifs, notably foliage and palmette designs.
The armrests, with their bold and slightly curved lines, rest on carved supports.
The apron is also richly decorated with gilded bronze.
The armchairs stand on four tapered legs, with the front legs ending in small carved claw feet, another typical element of the decorative vocabulary inspired by antiquity.
The seats and backs are upholstered in ivory-colored damask fabric, secured by a row of decorative brass tacks.
A decorative and elegant pair, particularly well-suited for an office, a library, or a classic interior.
