19th-century Mahogany Empire-style Desk
Flat Empire-style desk in solid mahogany – 19th century
A very beautiful flat Empire-style desk in solid mahogany, dating from the 19th century, featuring the simple and monumental lines characteristic of Empire-style furniture.
The top, with slightly rounded corners, rests on an elegant frame featuring two drawers at the front, fitted with circular gilded bronze handles. The fronts and sides particularly highlight the magnificent grain of the mahogany, with beautiful patterns of burl and straight grain.
The desk rests on four cylindrical legs, adorned with molded rings and finished with turned feet. A substantial lower crossbar, composed of straight crosspieces and curved return pieces, ensures the stability of the entire piece while giving the furniture its beautiful architectural form.
A piece with a striking presence, perfectly suited to a classic interior, a library, or a study with character.
