A magnificent and extremely rare antique Kalaga embroidery from the late 18th century, a work of Burmese artisanal art from Southeast Asia. An exceptional, very large-format piece, ideal for lovers of ancient Asian art, beautiful antique textiles, or for adorning a large wall with a piece full of character.
Decoration & Subject: 8 traditional female dancers
arranged in medallions adorned with scrollwork and rich, intricate floral motifs.
Ancient artisanal technique: Embroidered relief motif
Fine craftsmanship using gold and silver metallic threads.
Richly inlaid with antique sequins, pearls, and cabochons of semi-precious stones that beautifully reflect the light. Presented under glass in an imposing blackened solid wood frame, equipped with its original reinforced wall mounts on the back.
