Jean-louis Scherrer Paris Necklace – Gold-plated Metal, Rhinestones, And Amber-colored Resin – Circa 1980
Important haute couture necklace designed by Jean-Louis Scherrer, made in France in the 1980s.
The necklace consists of a series of wide, articulated links in gold-plated metal, with a deliberately irregular and faceted design, alternating with narrower elements entirely studded with white rhinestones.
The central section features three large, faceted polygonal elements in an orange-amber hue, set in gold mountings. Their warm hue and geometric shape contrast with the brilliance of the metal and rhinestones, giving the piece a particularly striking presence.
The bold, sculptural design of this necklace is characteristic of 1980s couture jewelry, a period during which Jean-Louis Scherrer created spectacular sets designed to complement his collections.
The circular clasp is also a decorative element in its own right. Its front bears the handwritten signature “Jean-Louis Scherrer”.
The reverse side also bears the following markings:
“Scherrer Paris”
“Made in France”
A stunning piece of designer jewelry, instantly recognizable by its generous proportions, its gilded metalwork, and its quintessentially couture aesthetic.
