Painting XIX, oil on canvas depicting a seascape, signed Lucien-Victor Félix DELPY.
French artist born in Paris in 1898 and died in Lorient in 1967, descended from the "Hippolyte" line on his father's side. He was admitted to the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in 1914 and set up his studio in Montparnasse in 1923. He discovered Brittany in 1924 and settled in Concarneau, where he continuously painted the harbor, the tuna boats and their unloading on the docks, and the various activities related to the sea.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français beginning in 1922 and won a silver medal in 1927, as well as the Paul Liot Prize and the Dumoulin Prize; he was appointed Painter to the Navy in 1931, the same year he received the Grand Prix of the City of Paris.
Good condition, with cracking mainly in the sky.
