Cloisonné Incense Burner, Japan, Meiji Period (1868–1912).
Copper incense burner (in Japanese: Koro) covered with cloisonné enamel. A three-legged incense burner with a domed body, resting on three cylindrical legs, featuring two flat, curved handles. The lid is adorned with openwork cutouts and a spherical handle. The body is richly decorated with multicolored enamel on a turquoise background. The main decorative motif consists of depictions of Asian lions (also known as “Fo dogs”) amid stylized peony flowers and auspicious symbols (coins symbolizing wealth).
Japan, Meiji era (1868–1912).

Condition: relatively good, with slight chips on the handles.
