Oblong Crystal Tray, "moscow" Model, By Hubert Fouarge For Val St Lambert, 1908
An oblong tray made of clear crystal lined with cobalt blue and beautifully adorned with intricate engraving. This engraving, by Hubert Fouarge for the Val-Saint-Lambert crystalworks, is very delicate and complex, highlighting the crystal’s iridescence. This tray is from the Moscow collection, the pinnacle of “riche taille” crystal cutting, dating from 1908. It features an arrangement of four large almond-shaped panels, connected by curved ribbons and centered around double-star motifs. The edges of the short sides are scalloped, while the edges of the long sides are serrated.
