Finely Carved Polychrome Wooden Angel, Italy, 17th Century
A polychrome wooden angel of exceptionalcarving finesse.
It is depicted standing, simply clad in a wide loincloth andtall red boots.
The polychrome paint is in very good condition; the right index finger is missing, there are oldrepairs on the arms, a section of the loincloth is missing, and his fists are clenched aroundmissing attributes.
Its wings are missing.
Dated to the 17th century, likely from Italy
