Pair Of Antique Bottles Made Of Thin Blown Glass Or Crystal, France, 1890–1910

A pair of bottles made of lightweight, transparent blown glass (or crystal).
They have a smooth, cylindrical body that flares slightly toward the top.
The neck is adorned with three applied, embossed rings—collarini—an element derived from the Neoclassical style that serves a practical function: it makes it easier to grip the bottle when pouring.
This three-ring neck bottle design originated in England during the Georgian era (circa 1800–1820); however, the purity of the lines and the lightness of the blown glass are characteristic of French production from the late 19th or early 20th century and could be attributed to major crystal manufacturers in eastern France such as Baccarat, Saint-Louis, or the Montcenis factory.

The two bottles have their original stoppers. The bases of the stoppers and the insides of the necks are carefully ground to ensure an airtight seal.

Condition: good overall condition; no significant cracks or chips on the bodies. Slight signs of wear on the interior.
Please note a manufacturing anomaly (workmanship defect) on one of the two bottles: during the finishing phase of the base—intended to remove the mark left by the sprue after the blowpipe was detached—the object “slipped” from the artisan’s hand. This accidental movement caused a deep, asymmetrical scratch on the underside of the base (see last photo). This technical flaw, inherent in artisanal production, in no way compromises the piece’s sturdiness or stability.
