Large Wall Clock Decorated With Putti In Patinated Bronze And Gilded Carved Wood – Neapolitan Period
A superb and imposing wall clock from the Napoleon III period, crafted in a remarkable Louis XV Rocaille style.
This elegant piece is adorned with three patinated bronze putti surrounding a domed dial with Roman numerals, delicately framed by a rich garland of flowers. The piece rests on a spectacular base of finely carved and gold-leafed wood, featuring volutes, shells, foliage, and scrollwork characteristic of the Rocaille style.
The quality of the carving, the harmony between the gilding and the dark patina of the putti, as well as its generous dimensions make this a highly prestigious decorative piece, ideal for a classical interior, a château, a private mansion, or a major collection of antique timepieces.
The dial features its original, finely openwork hands. The movement is present (condition to be specified based on its operational status).
In very fine condition with magnificent original gilding displaying a beautiful patina of age.
