6 Mahogany Chairs
Set of 6 mahogany Consulat-style chairs from around 1920, in good overall condition. Note that the seats are upholstered in brown leather. The leather has seen use, and there is some wear and age-related cracking. This type of chair was likely designed by the renowned cabinetmaker Jacob. The rear legs are “saber”-shaped, and the backrest is known as a “banded” back. These chairs are also referred to as “Etruscan-style” chairs.
These are very stable, sturdy chairs. Note a small crack in one of the backrests, but it does not affect the chair’s stability.
