Art Nouveau Display Case By Guth

Galerie Georgette Art Nouveau presents a charming Art Nouveau display cabinet by Paul Guth. He was born in 1878 and died in 1918. Paul Guth was part of the École de Nancy movement. His body of work consists of numerous small pieces of Art Nouveau-style marquetry furniture. This display cabinet, crafted from walnut, is a prime example. It is very simple and elegant, featuring two beveled glass panels that follow the curved line of the walnut, which is itself carved with a flower in the center. At the bottom of the door is a marquetry panel also featuring flowers—a typical Art Nouveau motif—as well as the artist’s signature. The size of this Art Nouveau display cabinet makes it suitable for any room. It comes with a wooden shelf that is currently being restored.
