Cockfighting In Slurry, Based On Massier

Cockfighting in slip, after Massier.
Jérôme and Delphine Massier, a famous dynasty of ceramicists,
who had their workshops in Vallauris, in the south of France.
Their depictions of colorful farmyard roosters
are among the most famous and sought-after pieces in the heritage of
French earthenware.
The absence of a signature on this pair of roosters is not
surprising and is quite understandable for ceramics from that period,
which spans approximately 1880 to 1910.
