Stevens single-shot pistol in .22 or .30 Short RF caliber, 1864, 19th century.
The Stevens Arms Company produced a wide range of small, single-shot pocket pistols with swing-out barrels in various calibers.

This model is one of the earliest.
The push button on the left side allows the barrel to be tilted.
Single-action mechanism in perfect working order and Mexican-style trigger.
Round barrel with sights and fluted barrel.
The interior of the barrel is rifled.
Manufacturer’s mark on the top of the barrel and serial number on the left side, visible when the barrel is tilted. See photos.
Brass frame and wooden grip secured with a through-screw.
