"the Child And The Dog" By Arnaud

Artist: Charles-auguste Arnaud
A porcelain figurine on an octagonal base. It depicts a young, naked child playing with a dog featuring highly detailed, curly fur typical of the charming 19th-century academic style.
It is in perfect condition, with no cracks or chips—just a few firing imperfections, as shown in the last photo.
It measures 32 cm in height, and its hexagonal base is 20 cm.

The artist Charles Auguste Arnaud was a renowned artist (1825–1883); he is credited with major monumental works in Paris, such as the statues of the Hunter on Foot and the Artilleryman, installed on the famous Alma Bridge.
This type of hard porcelain (biscuit) piece was notably produced in Limoges by the Henri Ardant & Cie factory during the second half of the 19th century.
A copy of this work is part of the official collections of the Adrien Dubouché National Museum in Limoges.
Shipping available in France and throughout Europe.
