Large Delf faience bowl (18th century), decorated in shades of blue to commemorate the political marriage of Stadtholder William V of Orange-Nassau (1748–1806) and Princess Wilhelmine of Prussia (1751–1801), celebrated on October 4, 1797, face-to-face profiles of the couple surmounted by the initials P and W surrounding the letters O and R for the House of Orange-Nassau; an inscription below in Dutch reads “Gebaart gesrout gesegnt,” meaning “Born, Married, Blessed.”
