Small Carved Marble Tub

We are offering this circular carved marble tub or sink dating from the early decades of the 20th century.

It is made of beautiful veined marble (likely Siena marble), featuring shades ranging from ivory white to beige and golden brown. The outer rim is embellished with an elaborate sculptural relief featuring plant motifs reminiscent of acanthus leaves. Its design is inspired by classical Italian antiquity.

Its circular, bowl-shaped structure with a flared base and thick walls lends itself to various uses around the home. It can be used as a decorative piece, as a bathroom sink, or as an elegant and functional container. Please note that it does not have a drain hole, but one can be drilled if you wish to convert it into a sink.

It is in good condition with some signs of wear along the edges (see detailed photos) consistent with its age. There is a mark visible on the bottom, consistent with its previous placement, likely on a pedestal.
