The teapot is made of hard porcelain covered with a crackled glaze. The spout is shaped like a bird, while the handle and the frieze feature dragons. These figures appear to have been modeled separately and attached with slip to the body of the teapot, which was wheel-thrown. No traces of molds. The crackle glaze is fine and even. The piece was crafted with the utmost care, and the finishes are perfect. 18th-century Chinese work. The lower part of the spout was broken and repaired with gold powder; this restoration enhances the damaged area rather than concealing it. No other repairs. The teapot functions admirably well, without dripping. Length: 176 mm; Height: 95 mm.
