Agate Cameo Ring – 18-karat Gold

Elegant antique ring in 18-karat yellow gold (750 ‰), fully hallmarked, adorned with a rectangular cameo in two-tone agate (warm orange background, milky white relief), finely carved.

The cameo depicts a bearded male profile in the ancient style, rendered in a Greco-Roman-inspired neoclassical style, evoking a mythological or heroic figure from Olympus, in keeping with the classical aesthetic that was very much in vogue in the 19th century.

The stone is highlighted by a rounded prong setting, characteristic of the refined mountings of this period.  
The delicately crafted openwork setting features shoulders adorned with gold medallions, lending the piece elegance, lightness, and visual balance.
