Napoleon III-style Painted Wood Cabinet
A painted wooden workbench or sewing table from the Napoleon III period.
The flap on the top reveals a mirror as well as a compartmentalized tray or sewing box.
The top is surrounded by a high rim to prevent objects from falling off while sewing.
It opens at the base with a drawer; beneath it is a second sliding sewing box.
The side posts, featuring double baluster columns, rest on ornate feet connected by a turned wooden crossbar.
This sewing table is adorned with Neoclassical-style painted decoration on all sides, set against a cream background accented by turquoise and gold borders.
Please note: the tabletop is slightly warped, the mirror is frosted, and the lock is non-functional.
Dimensions : 50 cm x 35 cm
Height : 74.5 cm
