Here we present a pair of highly ornate chairs. Crafted from gilded wood, the first thing you’ll admire is the exceptional quality of the carving on the three crossbars, featuring burst pomegranates, shells, water leaves, agraffes, and other spandrels—work worthy of the greatest cabinetmakers and carvers of that era. Given the exceptional quality of the frames, the upholstery could only be of equally high quality—which it is. The upholstery consists of Aubusson petit point tapestry, with very vibrant colors, featuring a design of partridges and a rabbit on one piece, and pheasants and a kitten on the other.
