19th-century Lombard Empire Column In Medicean Breccia And White Calacatta
Lombard Empire column in Medicea breccia and white Calacatta, dating from the early 19th century.
The cylindrical shaft is smooth and made of breccia, creating a high contrast with the base and capital, which are crafted from white Calacatta marble.
The capital features a smooth, simple circular molding with a classical profile that visually connects the shaft to the upper section.
The base has a stepped, tapering quadrangular structure topped by a circular molding in veined white marble, designed to ensure maximum stability on the floor.
P.S. The sculpture can be paired with the column.
