Napoleon III-style Coffee Table/writing Desk In Polychrome Wood, France, 19th Century
Napoleon III-style coffee table/writing desk in polychrome wood with gilded bronze accents, dating from the second half of the 19th century.
The rectangular top is enhanced by two wings that extend the work surface and are adorned with inlays depicting amphorae with flowers.
The base panel features a large drawer highlighted by a gilded bronze keyhole.
The four fluted truncated-cone legs are joined by a mixed-line crosspiece featuring a bronze and wood amphora at its center.
General Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method.
