An ancient Neoclassical alabaster sculpture depicting Paolina Buonaparte, dating from the 19th century.
Paolina’s figure has a bare torso, while the lower part of her body is draped in finely crafted fabric characterized by deep, regular folds that follow the anatomical contours of her legs.
The composition is arranged horizontally, with the figure’s weight distributed onto her left hip.
Her left arm is bent and supports her head in a relaxed posture, while her right arm is extended along her body with her hand resting on her thigh and clutching an apple.
The triclinium is decorated with a fringed drapery and rests on four pyramidal legs adorned with acanthus leaves.
