Pair Of Bisque Porcelain Vases – Müller Manufactory – Louis XVI Style, Late 19th Century

Artist: Muller
Pair of lidded vases in bisque porcelain – Müller Manufactory – Louis XVI style, late 19th century

An impressive pair of lidded vases in ivory-colored bisque porcelain, crafted in the Louis XVI style in the late 19th century. Baluster-shaped, each vase rests on an elegant pedestal and a quadrangular base adorned with a gilded brass mount, while the lid is accented by a thin brass band topped with a pinecone-shaped knob.

The main sides are decorated with relief medallions depicting delicate putti playing among bunches of grapes and vine leaves, framed by rich, finely sculpted neoclassical motifs. The side handles shaped like ram’s heads, the beaded friezes, and the plant motifs are entirely modeled from bisque porcelain, offering a remarkable interplay of relief and great finesse of execution.

The base of each vase bears the Müller factory mark as well as a serial number, guaranteeing its authenticity and origin.

This elegant pair perfectly illustrates the refinement of late 19th-century decorative art, combining the whiteness of bisque porcelain with high-quality sculpted decoration.
