Joseph Holdcroft’s Victorian majolica pieces were produced at Daisy Bank in Longton, England, from 1870 to 1885. Some pieces bear the mark “JHOLDCROFT,” but many others can be attributed to the artist only by their motifs and rich colors, which are known to originate from the Holdcroft pottery. Not only was his work inspired by the creations of Minton, Wedgwood, and George Jones, but he also used some of their molds.
