Rara Tyrolean Armoire, 18eme Century
rare Tyrolean armoire featuring architectural, molded doors painted with full-length portraits of a man and a woman, framed by friezes of scrolling foliage, leaves, and fruit. The interiors of the doors are fitted with fine, richly engraved hardware and locks—each door having a distinct lock—and retain their original keys (see photos). It should be noted that the armoire consists of two sections joined by wooden screws and nuts, a typical construction method for antique armoires of this type.
