Attributed to Paul Gavarni (1804–1866). Signed “Gavarni” in the lower left corner, this engraving based on the drawing appears in *Le magasin pittoresque*. The drawing is of fine quality, so it is possible that this is the preparatory sketch, though this cannot be confirmed... Woman and Child at a Reading Lesson. Pencil on vellum. Dimensions: 17 x 12 cm. Condition: marks on the sides left by adhesive tape, multiple pinholes. The drawing is very legible.
