Louis XV-era Wall Sconce
An elegant Louis XV-era wall clock, made of blue-lacquered wood and richly adorned with gilded bronze fittings featuring rocaille motifs, foliage, and scrollwork. It features an enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, signed “Jouanain à Paris.” The movement features a bell chime. Beautifully crafted, with particularly refined ornamentation. The wall clock bears an antique hallmark. Some normal restoration work and wear consistent with its age. A beautiful 18th-century decorative and collectible piece. (Mechanism does not function.)
