Claire Bianchi was born in 1963 in Cherbourg. Trained as a graphic designer and illustrator at the École Estienne in Paris, she settled in 1993 in Saint-Mammès, on the banks of the Seine and the Loing, where she works today, devoting herself entirely to oil painting. She practices an expressionist and gestural style of painting inspired by her surroundings and her many travels, drawing on a constant observation of nature, a process of memory and interpretation imbued with the emotions evoked by color and light. Depth, surface, and verticality have gradually led her to expand her canvases and thoughtfully explore the creation of a pictorial surface that is both frontal and transparent. Since the 2000s, she has exhibited her work regularly in solo and group shows, both in France and abroad.
